MyMoney® on your phone

Add MyMoney® to your phone

It takes about a minute. MyMoney then opens from your home screen like an app. There is nothing to download from an app store.

Which devices work

MyMoney works on most phones, tablets and computers bought in the last few years. Here is what you need.

You will also need

  • An internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data). MyMoney needs to be online to show your latest details.
  • Your MyMoney sign-in email and password.
  • A little free space. MyMoney uses only a few megabytes.

This is general guidance. Apple, Google, Samsung and Microsoft sometimes change menu names, and older devices that no longer get updates may not work well. If your device can’t install MyMoney, you can still use it in your web browser by going to planmanager.net.au.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open planmanager.net.au in Safari (the compass icon).
  2. Tap the Share button. It is a square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom or top of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
  4. Tap “Add”. The MyMoney icon is now on your home screen.
  5. Open MyMoney from that icon and sign in.

Android phone or tablet

  1. Open planmanager.net.au in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three dots menu in the top corner.
  3. Tap “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.
  4. Tap “Install” (or “Add”) to confirm.
  5. Open MyMoney from your home screen and sign in.

Using Chrome or Edge on an iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later? Tap the Share button and choose “Add to Home Screen”. Using Samsung Internet or Firefox on Android? See “I can’t see Install app on Android” below.

Windows, Mac or Chromebook computer

  1. Open planmanager.net.au in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Look for the install icon at the right end of the address bar (a small screen with a down arrow or a plus sign).
  3. Click it, then click “Install”. If you can’t see the icon, open the browser menu (three dots) and look for “Install MyMoney” or “Apps → Install this site as an app”.
  4. MyMoney opens in its own window and is added to your Start menu, Dock or app launcher.
  5. On a Mac using Safari (macOS Sonoma 14 or later): click File → Add to Dock.

Phone notifications (optional)

Once MyMoney is on your home screen, you can choose to get a short alert when something needs you. Participants turn this on in Settings → Notifications. Providers turn it on in My Profile. On iPhone this needs iOS 16.4 or later, and MyMoney must be opened from the home screen icon.

You can turn alerts off at any time. We keep sending emails as usual.

Something not working?

Tap a question to see what to try.

I can’t find “Add to Home Screen” on my iPhone
  • Make sure you are using Safari. On iOS 16.3 or earlier, other browsers can’t add to the home screen.
  • Private Browsing must be turned off. In Safari, tap the tabs button and choose a normal tab.
  • Scroll down the Share menu. The option is often below the row of app icons. You can also tap “Edit Actions” to add it.
  • Update your iPhone in Settings → General → Software Update.
I can’t see “Install app” on Android
  • Update Chrome from the Google Play Store, then try again.
  • Some phones say “Add to Home screen” instead of “Install app”. Both work.
  • In Samsung Internet, tap the menu (three lines), then “Add page to” → “Home screen”.
  • In Firefox, tap the menu (three dots), then “Install” or “Add to Home screen”.
  • Incognito or private tabs can’t install. Use a normal tab.
The icon opens in a normal browser tab
  • Remove the icon and add it again using the steps above.
  • On iPhone, make sure you added it from Safari, or from Chrome or Edge on iOS 16.4 or later.
Phone notifications are not arriving
  • Open MyMoney from the home screen icon, not from the browser, and check that alerts are switched on in MyMoney.
  • Check your phone settings. iPhone: Settings → Notifications → MyMoney. Android: Settings → Notifications → your browser or MyMoney.
  • Focus, Do Not Disturb or battery saver modes can hold alerts back.
  • Alerts are a helpful extra. Important messages also come by email.
I keep getting asked to sign in
  • For your security, MyMoney signs you out after a period of time. This is normal.
  • Clearing your browser history or website data also signs you out.
  • If you forgot your password, use “Forgot password” on the sign-in page.
My phone says it is low on storage
  • MyMoney uses very little space, usually only a few megabytes. Freeing up a little space and trying again usually fixes this.

Updating and removing

  • Updates are automatic. Each time you open MyMoney you get the latest version. There is nothing to update in an app store.
  • To remove it from a phone, press and hold the MyMoney icon, then tap “Remove App”, “Delete” or “Uninstall”. Your account and plan details are not affected.
  • To remove it from a computer, open MyMoney, click the menu (three dots) at the top of the window, then “Uninstall”.
  • Shared phone or computer? Sign out when you finish, and don’t let the browser save your password.

Getting help from someone you trust

A family member, carer, support coordinator or support worker can follow these steps with you. They can set it up on your phone, but you should type your own password, or set it together and change it afterwards.

Your privacy

  • Your plan and invoice details stay on our secure system. They are not saved on your phone.
  • Phone alerts never show amounts, names or other personal details on your lock screen.
  • If you lose your phone, sign out of all devices from Settings, or ask us to help.
